Philadelphia International Airport (PHL), is located seven miles from downtown Philadelphia, and is easily accessible from Interstates 76, 95, and 476. If you don’t want to drive to the airport, rail service is available on the SEPTA'S High Speed Rail Line (R1) train that operates from 5:25 AM until 11:25 PM daily, every 30 minutes, with convenient connecåtions to AMTRAK at 30th Street Station and regional rail lines at 30th Street, Suburban and Market East stations.

The Airport has seven terminals (A-West, A-East, B, C, D, E and F) and four runways. The airport serves 31.8 million passengers annually, including 4 million international passengers. The airport is home to twenty-nine airlines that offer nearly 600 daily departures to 120 cities, including 34 international destinations.

In addition to general shops and areas you find in airports, PHL offers an Exhibitions Program showcasing unique and fascinating artworks created by local artists; a year-round Performing Arts Program featuring a variety of entertainment; a Volunteer Program assisting travelers in navigating the Airport; and a Hospitality Program providing stranded travelers with refreshments and comfort items.

Terminal Information

Terminal A West
Terminal A West is one of the two newest terminal buildings at the airport and has a very modern and innovative design. It first opened in 2003 as the new international terminal, and is now home to all international flights (except Canada), and some US Airways domestic flights.

Terminal A East
Terminal A East was originally the airport's international terminal, is now used mainly by domestic carriers, but still used for international flights sometimes by US Airways. A East is well upgraded and well maintained, and recently received a new baggage claim upgrade.

Terminals B and C
Terminals B and C are the two main US Airways terminals. They are connected by a very large shopping mall and food court named the Philadelphia Marketplace.

Terminal D
Terminal D along with Terminal E were upgraded at the end of 2008 with a new concourse connecting the two terminals, providing combined ticketing for the two terminals and a variety of shops and restaurants, similar to the one between Terminals B and C, and a connector building between Baggage Claims D and E.

Terminal E
Like in Terminal D, food selections are generally limited. It serves Southwest passengers arriving in both Terminals D and E.

Terminal F (Concourses 1, 2, and 3)
Terminal F is a regional terminal, for US Airways Express flights. It includes special jet bridges that allow passengers to board commuter planes without walking on the tarmac. This terminal opened in 2001, and is the second youngest terminal building at Philadelphia International.
